Shane is an experienced executive leader in the maritime sector, with over 25 years of industry experience across Defence, Offshore Energy, Shipping, Environment and Infrastructure. He has held senior positions at BMT Group Ltd, a leading maritime-oriented design and technical consulting firm renowned for solving highly complex engineering challenges. At BMT, Shane has played a pivotal role in driving business transformation, delivering complex projects and formulating strategic initiatives that have strengthened the company's competitiveness.
Shane has held numerous board and governance roles, including being a member of BMT Group’s Executive Committee and serving as Managing Director of several BMT operating business units. His engagement with universities in the UK and internationally includes technical collaboration focussed on ship design and robotics applications, as well as supporting business management activities such as MBA programmes.
Shane’s qualifications include a PhD in Hypersonics from the University of Southampton and a first-class degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Manchester. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) and a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
