About Marion
Enthusiastic Fish Ecologist from France.听
I am currently a Postgraduate Researcher in the Fish Habitat Research unit, supervised by Dr. Ben Ciotti.听
My Research focuses on听Marine Juvenile Fish Habitats. I use several functional indices (fish's听growth,听nutrition,听connectivity) to improve our measurement of听critical juvenile fish habitats听and ultimately help setting听conservation priorities.
听
One important focus of my research is the calibration of a听RNA-based index of growth听for juvenile fish. I use a combination of听field data听and data obtained under controlled conditions in the听lab听to make this index robust and more applicable.听
听
I also use fish's听otoliths听and听eye lenses听as archival tissues to study听ontogenetic connectivity, looking at geochemistry and isotopes.听
听
My case study is the wild population of听juvenile common sole听(Solea solea) in the听Severn Estuary.
听
I am also involved in the ICES Working Group on the Value of Coastal areas for Exploited Species.
